"Why is a Sorc the fastest with polearms?"

Or at least the unique ones.. One of my friends is looking to start a zealot using a 2 handed weapon, so we were looking to find a good starting weapon. A sorc should have relatively insane speed using the Battlebranch. I've seen melee sorc done before, but never with a two handed weapon. Who's up to the challenge? |

I don't know. But she's also the fastest with Great Mauls (& Martels), which is kinda fun. Toss on Steeldriver (unique great maul with -50% requirements, heal stamina 25%, and GIAS) and it's a riot, plus it looks cool. Add in Twitchthroe, which gives +10 str and SIAS, and you can equip Steeldriver as early as level 7 and be doing damage like a madwoman. Should be really easy to get through act 1 like this. |

hehe.. i think i'm gonna try it. If i were to be serious about it though I'd use battlebranch, it's faster has an ar bonus and life leech. If i'm correct it's already at double very fast, so speed is maxed out on it. Equip an Eye or frostburns for cold damage, goldskin for resists (and it looks pretty cool on a sorc), Bladebuckle (since you have to get to ~60 strength anyway, and this will help boost you to use skins), treads (or toes for big games if you don't use static). No shield... that'll be rough, but you can compensate with Eshield, i suppose.
Also max enchant to add damage. Could be pretty decent. |

Bonesnap dropped for my clvl 27 hardcore sharpshooter Sorc in the Outer Steppes, I thought wtf is this now? (Answer: 150-210 damage with 50% chance of crushing blow, plus 30% fire and cold resists) Well, I wasn't using a shield anyway and I already had the 69 str it wants, so I figured, why not? Hopped over to Plains of Despair to hunt down Izual again. Well, Izual's a pretty tough customer, and my Sorc's AR is so miserable she misses more than she hits, but when I finally connected with a crushing blow, Izzy's red bar dipped like it was hit with point-blank Static. Course, he took a few painful chunks outta me too - almost bit the dust there - but hey, even a Sorc can duke it out with the bad boys. |

Sorc are not the fastest with polearms. Sorcys may have "fast" attack speed for polearms... but that is relative only for sorcys themselves. A sorcy's "fast" attack may be slower than a barb's normal attack...

speeds for two-handed Axes, two-handed Maces (Mauls), Polearm, Staves and quest items such as Horadric Staff (both of them). Amazon: 17
