"Advise for Paladin"

LAST EDITED ON 04-16-01 AT 02:08 PM (PDT)

I just traded a +1 barbarian skill level for a SOJ for with my paladin.

*sigh*

I feels kinda sorry for him.

Remember, leveling Blessed Hammer does more damage than leveling Concentration. Try to keep them close in numbers, but always have BH higher if you're a Hammerdin.

Lightning Fist? Possibly you mean Fist of Heavens... and that's not an Aura. As of now, Fist of Heavens (FOH) is almost worthless for PVM (Player Vs. Monster). By _almost_ I mean, it can kill Oblivion Knights if you give it long enough. And it can waste Act1 Zombies :}

That's all relative to your lvl. Since you have 8 in Concentration I'm assuming you're at least lvl 26. Therefor, City of the Damned/River of Flame will probably offer the best exp for your buck.

That depends on if you are playing a hammerdin I'm assuming that you are, so you'll want to have concentration . Keep that blessed hammer level above concentration. If you want to use Fist of the Heavens, you should make a Messiah

That is all relative to your experience. if you are over level 25, which i'm assuming you are, then you should find somewhere that offers monsters at least your level +/- 1 or 2. So i'd recommend City of the Damned and/or the River

i hope this helps.

This is how I made my very mainstream hammerdin, which I got bored of at lvl 51.

Str: Pretty low, 45 for magefists should be a good goal
Dex: none
Vit: All
Eng: none, use +mana items.

Plan:
1-18, get all prereqs, and possibly some attack such as Zeal to make the first few levels easier.
18-30: Level Blessed Hammer and Concentration, and get the prereqs for Redemption.
30+ Get redemption to level 3-4 or so, and max out Blessed hammer and concentration. When BH and Conc are maxed, consider getting Holy Shield to maintain high blocking, especially if you use Wall of the Eyeless. Otherwise, salvation (the resist all aura) can be useful in areas where there are a lot of elemental attacks (such as Travincal). If you go for a sorceress-like item setup (tarnhelm, 2 Sojs, Magefists, Ume's Lament, Wall of the Eyeless etc.) it can be difficult to keep the resists high enough, so Salvation can be very good.

There you go, a perfectly viable Hammerdin. It is probably possible to make a better one, but this one worked for me.

Act 4 is a good place to level in, but watch out for the evil bosses (Hephaesto).

The most important thing, however, is that you have fun, and this kind of paladin isn't very funny to play, but it's up to you.

/Rashban
