Varaya and Khan have updated their mod again today due to complaints. The one big change: "Teleport has min 80 and max 150 mana cost. Happy telekilling."

New V&K Diablo

The 8/22 version of the V&K Mod for Diablo has been released. A quote from their news page:
Diablo mod has once again been updated. Download it here. The readme file tells all about the changes, which include changes to the character class allowance for base items, changes to the unique items, some new monsters, changes to the spells (no more easy Laz runs, and be careful when you cast teleport in hell/hell ...), increased bow damage to support archer rogues. Uhm, and do not try that cheesy "kill Diablo in the fire wall" stunt anymore ... <eg> :-)
Rioting broke out on the DSF when it was discovered that Teleporting now uses all of your mana in one shot. Telekilling is out the window! Check out a large discussion about it here.

Armin has graciously contributed an editorial on the subject of Diablo scanners, and how they cause more problems than they solve. I wholeheartedly agree. Do you? Read his fine treatise here. And don't hesitate to send in your own thoughts on various Diablo issues - any opinion is welcome if it's a well written, concise document.

The concre+e Diablo Pages site has added Finnan Haddie's Low-AC Warrior Guide to its list of fine strategy guides. Low-AC Warriors, also coined as "Berserkers," can be summed up well with one line from Fin's great strat: "Good offense = good defense. If you can kill fast and keep monsters in stun lock, the need for defense lessens." Check it out.

Yes, it's old news by now, but I was out all weekend. :-) Varaya and Khan have definitely been busy! The new versions of Hellfire and Diablo contain some good changes, and the new Diablo mod is very, very different! Make sure you read up on the new changes before you play it, the mod has some radical changes in equipment usage for character classes. Go to the V&K homepage to grab it.
