Bowazon troubles? AK404 has updated his bowazon guide, and it is fantastic! Comments should go here, and I'm very sorry for not seeing this comprehensive guide at first. Kudos to AK404 for some great work!

Foxbat has released his newest version of the D2Accelerator patch for Diablo II v1.10 which can be used on Battle.net. He has also finished the final version of the popular mod, Seven Lances. Many thanks to Foxbat for his excellent work. Unfortunately, we may not be seeing much of him in the future, so wish him good luck.
Runewords, Runewords Everywhere, But Not a Drop For Me
Diablo II News

Thursday, 03 June 2004
Blizzard has been so kind as to give us the recipe for yet another undiscovered runeword. So, that makes a total of FOUR new runewords previously undiscovered. Splendor, Duress, Prudence, and the new one, Wind. It can be made in 2 Socket Melee Weapons and the recipe is 'Sur + El'. It's stats are:
10% Chance To Cast Level 9 Tornado On Striking
+20% Faster Run/Walk
+40% Increased Attack Speed
+15% Faster Hit Recovery
+120-160% Enhanced Damage (varies)
-50% Target Defense
+50 To Attack Rating
Hit Blinds Target
+1 To Light Radius
Level 13 Twister (127 Charges)

If you feel like checking them all out together, they are all listed at the bottom of this page. Happy rune hunting!

Update: Baajikiil has pointed me towards a thread on the Amazon Basin about the new runewords where nobbie and adeyke confirmed that Wind only has +50 To Attack Rating. Thanks guys!

Not Under Duress

Rune word madness continues! The discovery of Splendor brought about a flurry of rune word testing, and two new rune words, Duress and Prudence, have been discovered today. Prudence can be made in two-socket armors, and the recipe is "Mal Tir". At this point, the stats for Prudence are reported to be:
Prudence
+25% Faster Hit Recovery
+(142-161)% Enhanced defense (this may turn out to have a larger range)
All Resistances +(29-35) (once again, range not confirmed)
Damage Reduced by 3
Magic Damage reduced by 17
+2 to mana after each kill
+1 to light radius
Repairs 1 durability in 4 seconds
Duress can be made in three-socket armors, and the recipe is "Shael Um Thul". Its stats are reported to be:
Duress
+40% Faster Hit Recovery
+(10-20)% Enhanced Damage (range not confirmed)
Adds 37-133 cold damage
15% Chance of Crushing Blow
33% Chance of Open Wounds
+(176-197)% Enhanced Defense (range not confirmed)
-20% Slower Stamina Drain
Cold Resist +45%
Lighting Resist +15%
Fire Resist +15%
Poison Resist 15%
Also, the range of enhanced defense for the rune word Splendor has been expanded to 60-105%. XShadow has been helping to organize the testing, and continues to keep the results updated in this thread. Also, please note that these rune words are being testing on the Realms, using Ladder characters. They do not work in single player or on open battle.net. I'm not sure at this point if they work on the non-ladder Realms.
A New Rune Word, in all its Splendor
Diablo II News
Written by Griselda

A new rune word, Splendor, is now working on the Realms. The recipe is "eth lum", and it can be created in a two-socket shield. The stats for Splendor are reported to be:
Splendor
+1 to all Skills
+10% faster cast rate
+20% faster block rate
+(60-105)% enhanced defense (varies)
+10 to energy
Regenerate Mana 15%
+50% gold from monsters
+20% chance of finding magic items
+3 to light radius
Do note that the amount of enhanced defense has not yet been determined, and there have been reports of enhanced defense outside of this range. Also, this rune word does not work in single player.

The recipe for Splendor is not new; it appears on this list of rune words based on version e1.07. However, Splendor has not been a working rune word until today (or at least very recently). This discovery has prompted players to try the other inactive rune words on the e1.07 list, but so far Splendor appears to be the only newly-activated word. You can keep track of the rune word testing by visiting this thread in the battle.net trading forums. Although threads about this discovery are popping up all over the place, I've found the most interesting and informative thread over on The Amazon Basin.

Decoy, a Great Power Skill?

Decoy \De*coy"\ (d[-e]*koi"), v. t. [imp. & p. p. Decoyed; p. pr. & vb. n. Decoying.]

To lead into danger by artifice; to lure into a net or snare; to entrap; to insnare; to allure; to entice; as, to decoy troops into an ambush; to decoy ducks into a net.

All these and more. Sailboat over at the Amazon Basin has posted a very informative mini-guide to decoy tactics. Every possible use of the Amazon skill Decoy, and then some! Makes me very sorry I missed it before. Better late then never, I guess!

Have you ever wanted to play Diablo II v1.09 again, only to realize you'd miss out on all the new ladder items? Have you ever wished you could fight 'Diablo XP' with your single player characters? Well, wish no more, because nobbie, creator of The Little 'MAGIC FIND' Guide for Diablo II LOD 1.10, has just made a "LoD Classic Style MOD"! This mod contains some of the best things from 1.09 AND 1.10, plus extras made by nobbie himself, such as 'Korlic's Hew' and... well, why don't I just give you the link? It's all in this thread, the download, the list of features, and the introduction. Quite organized, really.

rriggs has posted a witty set of tips for a summoning Necromancer. Although written mostly for new players, it does have quite a few gems in it! This guide even includes rriggs' patented top-secret teleporting minions trick! No, not an amulet with teleport charges on it. Check it out over at the Amazon Basin.

It's time - I'm jumping in here to announce that Blizzard is going to be posting the signups for the World of Warcraft beta test starting this Wednesday!
At 6:00 pm PST on Wednesday, January 28th, the signup period for the World of Warcraft Beta Test will officially begin. We will provide a link to the beta-test application right here in the news section at that time. Testers are not going to be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, so you will be able to submit an application and receive equal consideration anytime during the signup period, which will end on Wednesday, February 4th at 6:00 pm PST. Please note that multiple submissions from the same household will result in complete disqualification.
This is a real front-runner for the Lurker Lounge's third covered game, and beta reports will have a big say in that. Good luck getting into the test!

MongoJerry's superb 1.10 Enchantress Guide is now archived here at the Lurker Lounge. A build that I've enjoyed quite a bit in 1.10, the Enchantress relies on the huge damage bonus from Warmth and a double-dose of Fire Mastery to deliver damaging attacks against monsters. One of the best party-friendly builds, the Enchantress is described in full detail along with the different ways to play her. Read on for more!

Looking for an up to date 1.10 wereform guide? Well look no further, for electricblue has made a wereform guide showing how Rabies and Fire Claws have been improved in the latest patch. The discussion and nitpicking in the forum is here, and the guide itself can be found right here.
On a seperate note, I'm supposed to do an introduction, so here it is: I, Refrigerator hereby declare myself as one of the three new site admins. Greetings to all who know me and to all who don't. I will be putting up news items from time to time. That's all for now!
