A new Mac version of the 1.10 beta patch has been released. The patch was designed to address performance and framerate problems that Mac users were experiencing with the first version of the patch. So far, users have been reporting much better performance with the updated verion. You can download it from the main beta page. |

Blizzard's Arreat Summit has published a list of changes in the Patch 1.10 beta, which you can find right here. Although it's quite lengthy, they acknowledge that the complexity of the patch makes a complete list difficult to compile. So, corrections will be made to the page with the help of beta testers, who can continue to send in feedback about the patch and its documentation. |

Blizzard is offering a beta test for the Diablo II 1.10 patch! You can grab it right here. Diablo II BETA Patch 1.10 is playable ONLY in single-player mode and ONLY via TCP/IP for multiplayer. You cannot play this version on Battle.net. If you install this patch, you will not be able to connect to Battle.net to play Diablo II or Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Set up Diablo II 1.10 TCP/IP games with your fellow Lurkers at the Pandemonium Fortress. Keep in mind that Blizzard is also asking for our help with catching bugs. Report any bugs you find on their 1.10 Bug Report Forum. Blizzard asks that you DO NOT send in bugs to their Technical Support.
Might I add that the Lurker Lounge Chat Room makes for a great place to go and set up TCP/IP games? |

And the Diablo community is left reeling...what impact will this have? None in the short-term, but we'll just have to see what occurs in the long-term with Blizzard North as its founders leave, along with Bill Roper. Blizzard without Roper (the voice of Diablo himself) just seems odd. |

If you're reading this, you are now picking up the new domain pointer for the Lurker Lounge's new host, Globat. Please be patient if you run into any problems with the scripts on this site, such as the forum and search scripts, while I get them configured with the new setup. If you catch any other broken links, shoot me an email, please! Thanks. |

The Blizzard development team held a Fan Site Chat tonight to discuss and reveal new features coming in Diablo II 1.10. General questions were asked, but some interesting tidbits came out such as the addition of unique charms, a new magic find system, restrictions on town portals and monster/character changes. So, stop reading this news post and go read it for yourself in the articles section! |

I won't go there, but one look at the Arreat Summit today has to make me wonder. Join the discussion here. Can you think of any items that would become dangerously overpowered with this formula? |

The Arreat Summit is the hottest Diablo II website for now, with regular updates on official information regarding what's in 1.10. Check out the now-confirmed skill synergy system and its effects on Bone Spear. Rather than copy and paste the daily news tidbits coming from the Summit, I just recommend a saunter on over there to surf its contents, including today's new Barbarian Whirlwind animation and a look at monsters that don't belong where they are. |

Oops. But also check out the new information about a secret quest in 1.10 and a host of exciting new revelations. While you're at it, join the discussion which is in full swing here. I won't put up speculations on the main page here, since the accuracy of leaked information cannot be fully verified. |

By now, if you follow Diablo II news closely, you've already heard of Blizzard's announcement of the Rainbow Facet Unique Jewel that is one of the first concrete displays of a new feature in 1.10 (instead of modifications to current items). It's obviously a tease, but it's also an indication that Blizzard is approaching the release of the patch quickly, since they are confident that this new item will be a locked-in feature and they don't have to worry about possible screaming from us if it's taken away. :) You can read more about the Rainbow Facet right here.
On a personal note, if you've followed Diablo II news closely, you've already seen that there is a major lack of updates here. I'm reiterating that this site was restarted to cover 1.10. But it hasn't come out yet, so things are kind of slow on the front news page. Rest assured that when the patch is released, we plan to move into full swing again like old times. But, as usual, most of the activity around here is on the forum, and that's the result of the great work done by you posters! Keep it up. Thanks! |

A new Hellfire modification, Hellfire: Fixed, has been released. And you'll only find it at the Lounge. Unlike other mods, Hellfire: Fixed is not a conversion of Hellfire into a new game. Rather, it corrects annoying bugs and features in regular Hellfire and, as such, is meant for use with your regular Hellfire characters. Hellfire: Fixed is a multiplayer modification and will not function properly in single player. Read more here. |

Forgive the non strategy-related post, but thanks to many of your emails I've come to the knowledge that CNN recently linked to Jarulf's Guide here at the Lounge. Kudos to CNN for finding the ultimate Diablo 1 guide and letting some possible newbies in on its wealth of knowledge. |
