In a stunning announcement, Blizzard officially revealed today that Draenei players will be able to choose to become shaman and that Blood Elf players will indeed be able to choose to become paladins when the Burning Crusade is released. The idea of allowing Alliance players to become shaman and Horde players to become paladins has been kicked around for a long time, but most players, including yours truly, dismissed the idea that Blizzard would actually go through with the idea out of hand. This change will have far reaching consequences in both PvE and PvP encounters. Discuss it all with your fellow Lurkers! |

A change to Windfury that was mentioned in the 1.12 beta patch notes sparked a furious backlash against the Shaman totem system and sparked a serious debate about the relative advantages between the two factions in raid environments. Luckily, as Quark reports, the proposed change to Windfury has been reversed: I've spoken with the developers and they let me know that they're not satisfied with the impact the windfury totem change is having on current end-game content balance, and plan to undo the change. Please remember that the testing phase of any patch is precisely to test such changes and evaluate their possible impact on the game, whether or not they eventually go into the final release build.
In short, no change to Windfury Totem is planned at this time.
Thank God. In other news, rogues and fury warriors rejoice, because Thunderfurycan now be used as an off-hand weapon. |

We have known for a while that the 1.12 patch will introduce cross-server battlegrounds and some elements of world PvP. Now, an official Blizzard press release as well as an IGN artcile reveals some of upcoming world PvP details. Silithus and the Eastern Plaguelands will turn into world PvP zones. In Silithus, players are asked to collect a dust called "silithyst" (think: "spice" from the Dune novels) and turn them in to the appropriate Field Duty camps. Collecting the dust will flag you for PvP, and players will be able to kill opposing players carrying the silithyst and steal it from them! In the Eastern Plaguelands, an Arathi Basin-like "king of the hill" system will be put in place, where the objective is to capture the four (newly repaired for this patch) towers in the zone. Rewards for completing these world PvP objectives include honor, faction, and zone-wide buffs. Read the articles for more information, and let your fellow Lurkers know what you think! |

Several bugs in Naxxramas encounters will be fixed soon, according to Tigole: **Thaddius Encounter**
We think we've identified the bug that was causing Feugen not to reset properly. There is a hotfix in the works and it should be live on realms before the end of today if everything tests out ok.
**Gluth**
We believe we've identified the bug that was causing Gluth to kill himself under certain conditions (the pressures of being a rabid, abomination dog-beast can be pretty overwhelming at times). A hotfix for this should be live shortly.
**Heigan the Unclean**
We've identified and fixed the issue that was allowing players to resurrect in Heigan's room without aggroing him. For the record, there is no wipte recovery intended in Heigan's room. The Heigan encounter should work similar to the Broodlord encounter in BWL -- clear the gauntlet, make an attempt. At this time, we are not able to hotfix the bug. We have a fix lined up for 1.12 and are currently researching alternate solutions for the problem. We're not going to action people for using wipe recovery in his room -- this is our mistake. But I wanted to give fair warning so that people had time to learn the encounter properly for when it is fixed. |

Cross-server battlegrounds will be introduced in 1.12, but PvP matching and honor system improvements will not go in until the expansion, according to Nethaera: Matching is still something that is being evaluated and will not be in the 1.12 patch with the cross server battlegrounds. If/when it's put in, it will be at the same time as the expansion. Of course this could change at any time but that's the current status. |

There might be some more bag space savings coming, but only a little, according to Tigole: We do not have any plans to bump the base backpack up to 20 at this time. We are aware of inventory issues that players have and we'll be doing a few things to help improve the situation.
Most recently, we increased the stack size on certain items. We also added the keyring to help address this problem. We're currently looking into new features such as an "all-in-one" enchanting rod (basically, the highest level rod will be able to apply the lower enchants -- no more rod clutter).
We're also discussing increasing bank space in the Burning Crusade.
However, several pseudo-keys will still not be allowed in the keyring: We're discussing opening up the Keyring to other keys. The ones you mentioned, however, are not on the discussion list. The UBRS "key is a ring and the Onyxia "key" is a necklace. Same goes for the Maraudon Staff. There are quite a number of actual keys that we're considering allowing the keyring to accept. |
