Blizzard's Fan Site Chat for the upcoming Diablo II version 1.10 was held in June 2003. General questions were asked, but some interesting tidbits came out such as the addition of unique charms, a new magic find system, restrictions on town portals and monster/character changes. |

This one's a rambling affair of various expansion pack issues: the problem that's holding mercenaries back, uberdrop farming, why sets rule, the Druid shapeshifting skills, and every beta tester's favorite find: Gothic Plates! Read on for even more. |

Today the Lurker Lounge turns six! Starting on July 15th, 1999, this site has garnered a fantastic community that just keeps going strong. It's thanks to the huge efforts and dedication of so many involved that the Lounge keeps on moving forward, and for those who just refuse to let the spirit die. Here's to another great year! |

If you've managed to find a Death Knight who is actually interested in tanking instead of DPS'ing, here's a good article on how to help gear for it. Winter's Veil has returned once again, bringing with it a slew of new Achievements and festive winter fun! Here's a really nice overview of the new pvp zone, Wintergrasp. I've been in there a few times, and it's quite a bit of fun. While I may gripe about the hassle the zone creates trying to fly around the eastern chunk of Northrend, the battle itself is fun. Here's a pretty nice guide to help you gear up your holy pally for crit. In WotLK, there are no attunements, for anything. Just hit 80? You can zone in and give Malygos a poke. But is this a good thing? Especially with Heroics? You used to need Revered (and then Honered) to get the Heroic Key. So by the time you were able to do Heroics you were usually ready (gear wise) for them. But now that there's no keys, you have folks jumping right away into Heroics, and that can make a good run a pretty brutal one. I imagine that taking the keys away is a function of not having a specific faction tied to a certain dungeon (thank god) but is there some other way to 'throttle' it a bit? |

A post preserved from the old Diablo Strategy Forum for its value at the time of posting; a post considered "classic" because it rocked the Diablo community. Kept here to provide a look at the development of the knowledge of the game and the discoveries which led to today's deep understanding of game mechanics and strategy. Plus, it's great for nostalgia. |

After all these years of game play Nystul discovers a previously un-remarked and certainly un-recorded bug in Diablo -- the rare case of the reappearing foe! Turns out that if a monster (or monsters) is destroyed by a trap (exploding barrels, arrow-trapped coffins, etc.) and you leave the level, when you return that monster "killed" by the trap will be revived by the game! Whoa! To get the story directly from the source, read here. Amazing pick up on that bug, Nystul! |

(Archived) In this article, Jondefool ponders whether it is true that a defense-based character has to stick around the same monster level to be able to use its high defense efficiently. What impact do a shield/Twitchthroe combo, Holy Shield, and other defense skills have on the defense situation when the character level/monster level balance changes? |

Why don't people use Hydra more? It IS a level 30 skill, and yet it is shunned by many Sorceresses. Here's the explanation. |

(Archived) This Excel spreadsheet will detail everything you need to know about the Smite skill. By filling out the fields for weapons, shields, auras, combat skills, and other equipment, the calculator will be able to tell you how fast you'll swing, how much damage you'll do per hit, how many Crushing Blows you will achieve per second, and average times to kill various monsters in the game. It's a great reference to see how much of a difference changing equipment or skills can make. All designed and coded by Dorian. |

Unfortunately, this isn't the newspost announcing Diablo III has been
announced. But, with your help, that day might not be so far off. The
gaming site inDiablo.de has started an online petition urging Blizzard to continue the Diablo series. Petra_Silie from inDiablo.de has also started a forum thread here for comments, discussion, or questions. In the words of Petra_Silie, who does a much better job than I could:
Shall we patiently lean back, take a nap and wait for what may happen?
Yearning for more well-promising rumours? No - the time of depending on
rumours now belongs to the past! The time has come to take action!
That's why inDiablo.de launches: "Call to Arms" - The petition for a
"Diablo3" (Call to Arms is named by a runeword item of Lord of
Destruction). The entire Diablo- and the gamer community now gets the
chance to express their wish for Diablo3 and sign this petition. Maybe
we can set things in motion at Blizzards headquater in Irvine.
At the time that I write this, the petition has over 1300 signatures already. Don't delay! Go! |
