As of November 13, 2006, Median 2008 has been released. Its unique set of new skills has now been reorganized into class specific trees, which more clearly defines each class. Give feedback in Brother Laz's thread, and go to his site for more detailed information and to download the mod.
This mod has single-handedly rekindled my interest in Diablo II. Check it out. |

Diablo III will not be introduced at E3 this year, despite advertisements from IGN that implied that it would. E3 sponsor IGN retracted its earlier statements by saying: While certain advertisements on IGN had hinted that Blizzard Entertainment would be showing Diablo 3 at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, it's unfortunately untrue. Through a gap in communication, the IGN Insider promo mistakenly implied that the game would be part of the coverage offered at next week's convention. Sadly for us all, this was simply a production error. Blizzard has no plans to show Diablo 3 at the conference, as they had told IGN editorial in the past. The developer is focusing all of their energy towards promotion of the first World of Warcraft expansion -- The Burning Crusade -- and will save any announcements they may or may not have planned for a later date. IGN would like to apologize for any misunderstanding the advertisement may have caused. Look for all of the updated info on World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade from E3 next week, and all new Blizzard products as they're announced in the future. |

Diablo III - "Call to Arms" |

Saturday, 04 March 2006 |
Unfortunately, this isn't the newspost announcing Diablo III has been
announced. But, with your help, that day might not be so far off. The
gaming site inDiablo.de has started an online petition urging Blizzard to continue the Diablo series. Petra_Silie from inDiablo.de has also started a forum thread here for comments, discussion, or questions. In the words of Petra_Silie, who does a much better job than I could:
Shall we patiently lean back, take a nap and wait for what may happen?
Yearning for more well-promising rumours? No - the time of depending on
rumours now belongs to the past! The time has come to take action!
That's why inDiablo.de launches: "Call to Arms" - The petition for a
"Diablo3" (Call to Arms is named by a runeword item of Lord of
Destruction). The entire Diablo- and the gamer community now gets the
chance to express their wish for Diablo3 and sign this petition. Maybe
we can set things in motion at Blizzards headquater in Irvine.
At the time that I write this, the petition has over 1300 signatures already. Don't delay! Go! |

"
The Lords of Terror, Hatred, and Destruction lurk once more in the
bowels of the world, their vile blood galvanized with the thirst for
revenge against the Heroes who have thwarted their dark reign." - Blizzard.com
The patch comes with a new wallpaper, featuring Andariel... or... is it Lilith?
Also with the new patch comes a new special event. This time it has something to do with all the superunique
bosses...
"Players of
Hell Difficulty Realm games are hereby warned once again, that a series
of new and challenging tests await you! The answer lies within Diablo's
Bosses, which span across the world from the Den of Evil to the Throne
of Destruction..." - Patch Notes
*Spoiler Warning*
What this new quest involves is first collecting the three keys of
Terror, Destruction, and Hate from the Countess, Nihlithak, and the
Summoner, respectively while in Hell difficulty, then cubing those in
Hell Act 5 to summon a portal to one of three bosses who each drops a
piece of one of the three Prime Evils. The portal may lead to
Lilith (Who drops Diablo's Horn), a Duriel Clone (Who drops Baal's
Eye), or an Izual Clone (Who drops Mephisto's Brain). Transmute
those three items in Hell Act 5 to get another portal, but this one
leads to Tristram, where you fight buffed up versions of the Three
Prime Evils simultaneously. Oh joy.
For pictures, and a more detailed summary, check out this thread in the Blizzard forums. Diablo's Firestorm is just insane.

I didn't even think that this
was possible. From Act 1, level 1, to beating Baal in just under
2 hours. In single player. And I thought my time of a few
days was good!
Check out the video segments here. Kudos go to David 'marshmallow'
Gibbons for such a bloody fast time.

Alright, this is (sadly enough) my first newspost using the mambo system. So many shiny things...
Anyways, down to business. I've been sorely lacking in news stuff
over the last two months, but now, I'm going to attempt to make up for
it. In quantity, but not lacking any quality, that's for sure,
because I have here for you today... *drumroll*
The Mercenary Resource - I was almost certain I had heard of something
like this before, but my first look at it showed me that I was
wrong. This here, folks, is the most comprehensive list of
mercenary information. Credit goes to ThePlatypus from the AB for
compiling this huge document.
Faith and Windforce: The Mathematical Comparison - Wow.
Simply wow. The new runeword Faith and the age-old Windforce slug
it out in a mathematical competition to the death. Get all the
gory details that you always wanted but never knew. Coming soon
to a theatre near you. Amazing amount of mathematics by
War_Master_Ares.
Blade Fury Assassin Guide - What? Blade Fury? Yes it is,
check it out! Very interesting and informative guide by
Roguemage. Can't believe I missed this one. Worth checking
out immediately, even if your cat is on fire and you only weigh 48
pounds from lack of food.
Cult of The Dragon's Talon - Really great kicksin guide by Malaclypse. Also check out the forum thread.
Valuable Information: Lightning Javazon Edition - Don't know if I
even need to say any more. Valuable Information. Special bonus section for
beginners! Written by gta-maloy].
Valuable Information II: Fend strikes strikes strikes back - Well
written and interesting guide written for Fending spearazons by King's
Spectre.
Valuable Information III: Return of the Bear guide - A
good, well thought out take on the Maul/Fireclaws/Shockwave PvM
Werebear by Derisive. Also check out his very neat enchantress guide
here.
Alright! That's it for now. I'd just like to ask a favour
of anyone out there who wants to help. If you see a discussion,
guide, or new site you think should recieve a bit of attention, please
feel free to use the submit news feature, or alternatively, just give
me a PM on my Lurkerlounge account. Thanks, and ta-ta for now!
Update: Originally this was posted without any links. I
apologize greatly for this, it's just me getting used to new
stuff. Hopefully I can do it right from now on! ;-) |

First off today, Rechet has written a guide to the poor man's paladin, Angel. Not just a good choice for the not-so-wealthy, this variant is built to be a very good team player, and looks to be a lot of fun. Also, we have a melee-mancer guide authored by Elvish Legion also over at the Amazon Basin. This guide is not only informative, but really quite humorous! Reading it will make you 1336.5! |

Kynar has posted an excellent guide to the tank barbarian at the Amazon Basin. This fairly unique version of a tank uses some interesting methods and you'll definitely want to check it out. Also, the folks down at NeenerNeener.Net have done another Diablo II comic! |

Looking for a strategy-oriented bone necromancer guide? Look no more! Neod has posted a well done bone necro guide at the Amazon Basin. I really like how this guide details the strategy of the build more than required item lists. Good job, Neod! |

For all of you that were wondering exactly how Vengeance calculates damage, you might want to check this out. This isn't exactly intended as a light read, but if you really want to know what's going on in there, this is where to find out. |

Looking for a way to put some of the freshness back into Diablo 2? Check out this sweet-looking mod in the process of being built. Just the ideas being put out by the Amazon Basin community and the screenshots are enough to make me reinstall D2. Kudos to Brother Laz for his creativeness and daring to do what I have never even thought about (check out those colors!), and taking two major exams at the same time! Good luck with the tests and the mod, this is definitely turning out to be one of the most unique I've seen. |
