Here you can find game information somewhat more obscure than that found in Blizzard's online information source, the Arreat Summit. Also, various calculators are provided here by fans of the game. Enjoy!

A listing of "the extremes," the maximum possible values attainable for damages, regen, attack speed, etc, from ITEMS in Lord of Destruction. Some of these setups would be incredibly hard to attain. For many categories, multiple item possibilities are listed, with the best one shown last. All setups do not factor in skills, which for some characters, could increase these extremes even more. |

Yet another informative article by Jarulf captured from a forum post and preserved here with his permission. This explanation of the internal speed division of the game is useful as a reference to those new to the concept of Diablo and Diablo II's internal "frames per second" versus the more traditional definition of the term. |

(Archived) This is the order by which the game calculates the damage you take from a target. It is preserved here from a forum post because it helps clear up common confusions about how damage is dealt. Later on, Jarulf studies the damage you DO to a target. Did you know that Act-ending bosses do 10 times the damage versus minions and hirables? |

(Archived) Poison damage is STILL massively underrated by most players. Savaughn explains what makes it so devastating. Rumor has it that the ridiculous damage levels attainable through charms and emeralds is going to be nerfed in 1.09, but for now you need to take a look at poison and how it can help you kill dangerous creatures. |

(Archived) In this article, Jondefool ponders whether it is true that a defense-based character has to stick around the same monster level to be able to use its high defense efficiently. What impact do a shield/Twitchthroe combo, Holy Shield, and other defense skills have on the defense situation when the character level/monster level balance changes? |

(Archived) Using information gathered from the Chaos Sanctuary, Eddy Currents has developed a number of tables to calculate melee damage. The first table shows a direct damage calculation, and the next five tables use weapon speed information provided by Trucidation to reveal melee damage over time. The tables reflect base damage only; magical modifiers would be added onto the listed damages. |

(Archived) A spreadsheet of Magic Suffixes and Prefixes for items, the database can be filtered by item type, item level, etc. It's useful for gambling or transmuting to see what attributes are available on a particular type of item and at which level. You just use the filter tabs at the top of the spreadsheet to decide what you want to see. Requires Microsoft Excel. |
