The Original Lyrics - Occhidiangela - 06-14-2005

Beat it (Originally a rap)

Why must you mess around with every young man
You feed him chocolate milk,
You touch him with your hand
They take you to the court
Lawyers cost you many grand
But you Beat it
You Beat it

They say "Pedophile, you whacko, you perv"
They pull you from your plane
They got a lot of neve
The DA's thugs show up
A summons to serve
But you beat it
You Beat it

Beat it - Yeah
Beat it - Yeah
Lose yourself more weight
Don't feed it
Your face on TV
Your story in print
Your fans on the street
Your PR bucks spent
You Beat it
You Beat it

Your record sales are gone, your interview vile
Your money leaks away
You're down to half a pile
The DA storms the ranch
You don't crack a smile
You just Beat it
You Beat it

The radio shows and the talk of the town
They say you anorexic
Just a skinny clown
They poke fun at your nose
And the way you broke down
But you Beat it
You Beat it

Beat it - Yeah
Beat it - Yeah
Lose yourself more weight
Don't feed it
Your face on TV
Your story in print
Your fans on the street
Your PR bucks spent
You Beat it
You Beat it

In a week or so, it will be off the air and out of the papers. Thank goodness.

Yep. He beat it. Acquitted on all charges. Go Michael!

To quote Dave Chappelle, "He made Thriller, man. Thriller."

The Original Lyrics - Mithrandir - 06-14-2005

I think Michael Jackson is the only thing in this nation that everyone seems to have an opinion on. He runs the full gamut of "He makes me sick!" to fanatic deification with people.

The people that think he should be thrown in jail just because he's eccentric to some and an outright freak to others are just as wrong as the people who seem to blindly worship and defend him no matter the cause. I - obviously - wasn't there at the alleged criminal incidents and so if the DA truly did not prove the case, then I am glad that he was acquitted. Apparently the kid told several different stories and the mother was a complete wacko. But I wasn't in the court room, so who knows.

I will say, however, that I truly believe in the saying "Where there's smoke there's fire".

Yeah, usually true, but maybe sometimes smoke can come from someone seeing a really big pile of money burning a hole in a celebrity's pocket. I don't even have a guess as to whether he was guilty or not, and honestly I didn't pay much attention to the whole thing. My only opinions on MJ are that he was a great musician (probably still is, for that matter), and that he should have stuck with the "black man look" instead of turning himself into a Cupie doll.

Whelp, it's been a fun few weeks.

I'll see you all for the Timberlake trial.

The Original Lyrics - Lady Vashj - 06-14-2005

Whichever way the truth is, we're dealing with at least one truly inhuman creep here. Either it's Jackson himself, using his fame to sleep with little boys and get away with it, or it's the infamous Accuser's Mother, trying to frame a superstar for a hideous crime by taking advantage of some of his rather stupid habits.

They did find child porn in his home. The jury was shown it as evidence.

Bah humbug.

I am less concerned with what MJ spanks the monkey to than the parents who let their kids spend the night with that man. I still don't get that. This should be a non story.

We dealin' with the Jackson family here. Ain't no such thing as a non-story.

When was the last time Tito was in the news?

Oh? I was under the impression it was just 'regular' porn. Still, for some people, that distinction is not really all that important.

Jackson had pictures of little boys in compromising sexual postions, as well as books of naked boys considered "art" for some horrible reason.

Makes me so angry that I want to tear out my beardlocks.

What I was thinking was how daft Jury trials are. One juror didn't believe the mother because she clicked her fingers (I'm sure there is more to it than that), but the potential impact of cultural differences on an outcome is an interesting point to ponder.
Also, having lawyers for both sides seems a waste, the European system of having interrogative judges seems much better. Oh well, we have the same issues in NZ...
