Aye, we've one of those on display at the local air museum here in Oregon. A longtime favorite aircraft of mine.

However, on the subject of 'best', I have a hard time choosing. The Harrier Jet is certainly worth a mention, as is the Space Shuttle system, the machine used to dig the tunnel from the UK to France, Deep Blue, any modern oil platform, etc.

Artificial hearts are certainly novel, but until they can sustain someone for most of their natural life 99.9% of the time, if need be, I won't be too impressed. I still consider them to be in the testing and development stages.

I would argue it's what people are using to post on this forum. The personal computer, plus the add-ons like the internet, changed the world in fundamental ways in a very short amount of time. B)

I just thought it was sad that peoples impression of the most impressive technological device was a spy plane.

I guess if you measure it based on the increase to people's quality of life and the number of lives saved it would have to be;

The plow (a.aka. farming tools in general), so simple an idea (at least nowadays), such extreme effects on society and the planet.

Another impressiv machine is the squirt gun.

The soon to be released minionman style grill works much better and at a lower cost.

Made beautiful, because it is the last thing you will ever see

I have to go with something that can fly backwards.

Snakes simply rock!

That marvellous little thing that pulls water out of my well and lets me turn on a tap and have clean water flow straight into a glass.

Without it, I would spend my days in servitude to water use. Now that is an impressive machine (when it works, but that is another story :lol: )

A pulley. So simple...so easy...so powerful.

All kidding aside, the most impressive machine ever built would have to be the nanomachine.

Btw Occhi; was that an Apache?

"No, it was a helicopter, you nit!" :)
