But seriously, Taem, I'm interested in hearing how your epiphany plays out in your life and your family's life as time goes on. Have they noticed this change in your behavior? As you go forward, will you find them interacting with you differently than before?
You're correct in that most of us here haven't had your upbringing, but many other Lurkers have had challenges they have worked to overcome - some of which were quite public about it here, like Kevin (GG).
I've found that almost universally, those people with anger management issues have them due to their experiences when growing up. It's not genetic. What that means is that your kids won't have to have this problem that you did if they avoid the traps that you fell into from your parents. Easier said than done, of course, as are all aspects of parenting.
