To lighten this thread up a bit, a few years ago my son said a funny.

We were having dinner. My son had recently answered the phone and been asked by someone about speaking to the head of the household. I had since explained what that meant to him. At dinner, he brought up the following point.

"I just figured out that if Dad is the head of the household, Mom is the tail of the household." Mrs Occhi's eyes popped open, her cheeks colored, and she tried to stifle a laugh. My daughter immediately realized how unintentionally funny the comment was and started giggling. I recovered as quickly as I could and with as small a grin as I could manage, tried to correct him:

"Son, if Dad is the Head of the household, Mom is the Heart of the household." He seemed to buy that.

That got a grateful grin from the Heart of my household. It is also, as I look back on it now and again, very true. Out of the mouths of babes oft come gems, which is one of the profound rewards of being a Father.
