So, assuming you're throwing the scorches at exactly 1.5s intervals (a clear fallacy, but it makes the math easier) over your 15s period with 10 scorches, the improved scorch at 5/5 is providing a 1.15 average multiplier to your scorch damage (15% increase) and an average 7% increase to fire damage from opponent sources. The 5/5 fire power version provides a marginal improvement over the 5/5 scorch at a 1.1526 (15.26% increase) and an average of 5.26% for the increase to outside sources.
