I notice that every Id Software title back to Keen including expansions is available on Steam now, at prices that are almost reasonable. I'm not familiar enough with Steam yet to buy games that way, but maybe...

Incidentally these are the exact same games as they were back when they came out, except Id is using the DosBox emulator to play them back reliably on modern systems. If you already own these classics, there's not really any benefit to buy them again through Steam...
