Do you Photosynth ?

Hi, :)

Do you Photosynth? It's free and major fun if you enjoy photography.

"My Home in Arizona" & "WoW" were a fun projects, next an interior Photosynth of my home.

Use the Slideshow button for the best synth view. :w00t:

Quote:What is Photosynth?

Photosynth takes your photos, mashes them together and recreates a 3D scene out of them that anyone can view and move around in.

Different than static photos and video, Photosynth allows you to explore details of places, objects, and events unlike any other media. You can’t stop video, move around and zoom in to check out the smallest details, but with Photosynth you can. And you can’t look at a photo gallery and immediately see the spatial relation between the photos, but with Photosynth you can.

What are the system requirements for the synther?

Internet Connection: Photosynth requires an internet connection to create and upload your synth. A high-speed connection is recommended.
Operating System: Only Windows XP (SP2 or SP3), Windows Vista, and Windows 7 are supported at this time. Running Windows on a Mac? Photosynth runs under Boot Camp and some VM configurations.
Processor: 2 GHz+ recommended. Quad-Core is ideal.
Memory: 256MB minimum; 1GB+ is recommended.

Here is one of a typical weekend youth scene at the Big Island in Minnetonka, near where I live. It's like spring break there every weekend.

Hi

I have not made any synths, myself. First, I am not terribly proficient with a camera. Secondly, and more importantly, when I do have spare time, the forces of evil always seem hell-bent on knocking at my door, so I feel compelled to sally forth and slay them.

However, my son does. He works for a tower crane company and has made a few from the tops of cranes.

Here is one - Bermuda Skyline.

And another - Niagara Falls from above the water park

And just to share it, because it is just such an amazing one, although my son had nothing to do with it - 300,000 Penguins, South Georgia Island

Enjoy!

I know nice from right.

Alas, no. And, no. I thought it would be fun to share one from around my area. In my days BC (before children), I've been to the gathering there occasionally some weekends, but it was never my kind of scene. The lake covers 14,528 acres, and has 125 miles of shoreline. There are numerous towns on the lake with public docks, for eating out at restaurants and watering holes.

Hi, :)

Very nice I got dizzy on his crane, I like the way he used his Zoom for close ups, I don't have a Zoom camera I walk foward & click :)

As far as doing synth's you just need to know how to "Click & Shoot" the program does the rest.

Do these crash Firefox for anyone else? I can open them and view them but as soon as I close the tab they are on, Firefox quits responding. I have to close it with the task manager.

[edit] I uninstalled and re-installed silverlight (same version) and it quit crashing Firefox anyway. Some sites still don't think it is installed though.

Yeah, same versions and I am now able to view the photosynth stuff you guys posted without killing Firefox. I think the sites that don't think silverlight is installed are actually looking for older versions. I only tried a couple to see what kind of games (games? looking for games? shocker!) people might try doing with it. I guess I'm really not to worried about it. I really just wanted to be able to see what you were excited about but doubt I'll go out of my way to explore silverlight more.

Hi, :)

Game synth great idea, and it worked, I took Screen shots of Runes of Magic a MMORPG, converted the BMP file to a JPG file using Paint. The results 100% synth. Use slideshow to View, for some reason it's the only way to see all the photos must be a bug.

WoW:

Do a search for Computer game...this is for "Companion Cube":
