   Well, not for the purpose.

My question is: will this be discussion of any and all statistics in d2, including any mods stats, vanilla and d2x, and beyond?

Also, what kind of 'proof' is acceptable when trying to discover data about a query?

   Since good forums are merely guided by moderators but all the content comes from users, I believe it will likely be on what we want to discuss.

As for proofs, I always thought the standards depended on the hypothesis. Clearly it would be more difficult to prove that specific monsters spawn in a certain way than it would be to prove the effects of a given attack type in PvP battle.

If you include your "proofs" in your description they will be weighted and debated on that basis.

I'm excited about this forum!!

Discussion of statistics of anything D1/D2 is welcome here. For really in-depth mod discussion, it's usually best to use the specific mod's forum; however, comparing formulas and statistics between standard D2 and mods is something quite welcome here.

Tough to say what direction this forum will take; Spirea and Chuck are the moderators and they'll be running the show. This is the perfect forum for them and guys like Jarulf who enjoy slinging numbers around; also, I'd bet this is a forum where many discoveries about the game will be made.

   Out of curiosity, Bolty, what reasons propted you to switch to multiple forums?

A few months ago, when I was following the forum more closely (than I was before this x-pac beta), you asked others what they thought of a switch to multiple forums, and the response seemed strongly against. Was the switch mainly because the number of lurkers just kept growing to an unmanageable size for just one forum?
