Yes it was the spiked club version of Gnarled Root.
We got quite a few surprises while we were doing these tests. I know that for me the biggest one of them was how well Schaeffer's Hammer & Falcon's Talon performed. Since all I had to do was rustle up D. and hop over a wall to get out of Attika's way, before emerging to produce the final HP count on TDL, I had a lot of time to appreciate these fights on a different level. That was mainly the level of how long the battles lasted. With Schaeffer's, those fights went on for a long, long time.
One of the things that stuck with me in all these tests is how many really great Unique items there are for use by The Executioner in an IronMam game. We found plenty of those, and I encourage anyone who reads this write up with an eye to IM play to take note of them.

Attika and I would like to thank Lemmy for making a special mod for us that produced herds of Diablos on dlvl 5, so that we didn't have to recreate our games and fight all the way down to 16 every time Attika managed to polish off TDL.
