Heiho,
I've just read a positive review about that movie
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0963178/
and it seems to be worth going to cinema.Has someone seen it already to (dis-)encourage me?

It's not out yet, so no, no one has seen it.:D

Heiho,
so it was a preview ... odd, usually the reviews I read are a bit behind release, and german release is additionally a bit behind US (may be otherwise this time, since it's a co-production).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_International_(film) Wrote:The International had its premiere on February 5, 2009 at the Berlinale Film Festival and is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on February 13, 2009.[10] It will also be released in the United Kingdom on February 27, 2009 and in Thailand on April 16, 2009[11].
So it has premiered in Berlin, but not been released in most countries. This means you might start seeing some reviews, but probably not a huge amount yet.

Heiho,
I've seen it yesterday. It's recommendable if you want to watch a dense thriller which gets more of its drive by the direction where people look, and not by long chases/explosions/shootouts. There _is_ some bits of chase, and one very extended shootout, but a true action fanboy surely would have loved more of that.
You don't want to see it because of Naomi Watts, who's just slightly more than staffage; and Clive Owen stares hollowly into nothing most of the time (looking pretty much like Mel Gibson in Mad Max II, which, credit given, suits the character he plays). A great Armin Mueller-Stahl, though.
Certainly you don't want to see it if you're all in for a happy ending, where some bankster organization would be torn apart, because this won't happen.
Enough spoilers.
