I was going through some old stuff I'd written elsewhere, and came across this, dated Feb 28, 2005.
"Then the Guild party started. I got my escort through to the party, as I'd not have easily made it without it. Then I was given my first ever Guild tabard. This is important, because in all the years of gaming that I've done, this is the first ever Guild that I've joined. I don't lightly throw myself in with others in the gaming world, but I've been hanging around with the Lurkers for years now (since Diablo) and figured I'd 'take the plunge'.
After some dancing, drinking, duelling, and fireworks in Goldshire, several of the level 60's decided to do the Stormwind Raid Event, and invited us along. So we went, and we ended up ganging up on about 6 other level 60+ Elite monsters. My C is level 10. She couldn't hit them with her bow and arrow to save her life. Then one came running at me. He missed me with his claws, but accidentally sneezed on me as he went by, and I died. After I ran back, it was almost over, but I got to see the end of it, as I was just in time. Funky stuff!"
This was way, way back when I had first made Mirajj to go specifically to this event. I was mostly playing on another server at the time, and wanted to hang out with the Lurkers I knew from the boards some. The friendly warrior who escorted her? Shalandrax.

None of the lurkers were willing to escort poor Fafner when she tried to make it through the Wetlands. Sigh. She was eaten by a spider. First time she had died.

One of my favorite memories dates back to the frist time I played the Diablo 1 demo I downloaded.
My warrior worked his way down to lv 2, opened the Butcher's door for the first time and heard his now famous words "Fresh Meat", I was quickly killed, spawned in town, I pushed back a bit from my computer desk and found myself physically shackened by the experience. I really get into the Role when it comes to games/books/movies.

It was Sharanna - she was and is almost always tagged to handle that kind of detail.

I remember Roane and I doing a lot of escorts back to back with other stalwarts like Ruv, GG and Treesh handling some as well. Sorry you were missed. :/

Mirajj, that was the first ever Lurker Party. We were all so "young" that the mages didn't even have portals! Hence the Sharanna Escort Service. Amazingly enough, I still have screenshots.

Ruvanal quested with Fafner once Fafner made it to Darkshore. I don't recall whether Ruvanal had any higher level characters at the time that could have been escorting. I still feel bad that Ruvanal and Fafner killed an orc who was mining north of Auberdine. Fafner got him with an arrow in the back when the orc tried to run away. Never figured out why the orc was flagged.
Before Darkshore Ynir brought Spangles over to Westfall for questing, when Spangles was in lurkers. In Westfall Fafner fought and won the only duel that any of my characters have ever done. She thought someone was inviting her to a group. Fafner had (and still has) the Prospector Axe that Tribade found for her in Deadmines. She hit the paladin with her axe. The paladin tried to heal, so she hit him again. And it was fun doing baby instances with Fafner tanking and Bolty healing. Sadly I don't remember GG, Treesh, or Sabra's characters from that era. Or I don't associate the people with the characters. I still have a couple of Small Silk Packs, kindly made by Zippyy and Rylea.
I gave up questing with Roquefort because in the first days Stormrage was going down so badly that her backpack was filling up with duplicate quest rewards. Fafner was my third real character on Stormrage.
On Tichondrius I had the guild charter before Mongo had been able to log in. It was so hard getting that first 10s or however much the charter cost. Then Mongo didn't want me to turn the charter in, because I liked the name Lurkers better than Lurking Loungers. Now I have characters in both Lurkers and Lurking Loungers, but neither guild is active.
But, yes, my feelings were hurt that I helped others with Tribade, but no one was willing to help Fafner get to Darkshore in one piece.

It was probably Aleri that did the escorting that night. I do remember one night were I took Aleri, with all of her downranks of Power Word: Shield on her bars just so I could help folks do the escort quest in Westfall when Horde would repeatedly kill the escort. The other possibility was Etheramwen, but I'm not sure anymore. I probably still have screenies from that little party. =)

Had to be Quark as that's the only other Rogue I remember running with then that isn't listed as dodging at some point.
