I learned something new today thanks to the internet.

Can you guess what his history is? I sure couldn't when I first saw his picture. All I knew is that he was an aged, well-dressed, happy man with a receding hairline.

This man is none other than the first President of Zimbabwe. That's pretty neat, but it certainly isn't enough to prompt me to make a new thread. What else is there? We must dig deeper!

His name is Canaan Sodindo Banana. Yup. The first President of Zimbabwe was President Banana! I'd vote for that name.

But wait, there's more!

According to Wikipedia:

His later life was complicated by charges of sodomy - a crime in Zimbabwe - which he denied and for which he was later imprisoned.

"President Banana has sodomized me" might actually have been spoken in a serious tone to someone, and not as a punchline.

The irony is that the punishment for his crimes was prison, where he was sure to find that for which he was originally charged.
