Conc / Concillian -- Vintage player of many games. Deadly leader of the All Pally Team (or was it Death leader?)
Terenas WoW player... while we waited for Diablo III.
And it came... and it went... and I played Hearthstone longer than Diablo III.

I wish there was some way to selectively disable the normal funtion of keys while in WoW. I find it hard to laugh at the misfortunate poster after something I did yesterday. All my characters use the caps lock key for frequently used functions, which results in often typing "sorry caps".

For my hunter the caps lock is assigned to a macro that targets and marks the nearest enemy if I do not have a target, and sends my pet in after it. I have not been feeling well and I wanted to let my party know that I was AFK while in Wyrmrest. No bonus points for guessing what happend next. I saw caps lock was toggled on so I pressed caps lock to clear it. My pet went to chew on the closest horde, and the dragons took umbrage that I would desecrate their fane. And, yes, Feign Death was resisted.

Once I got my body back the horde came over to pat my worm.

Here is a Basin thread on the subject.

Most specifically is a program listed at the bottom called KeyTweak which you could use to remap that caps lock key to something a little more acceptable like a left shift functionality.

So near and yet so far! Thanks for trying anyhow. The registry change worked perfectly. The caps lock key then had the function of left shift, which for me is good in general Windows use also. Unfortunately I could find no way in WoW to bind the left shift to anything, so the caps lock is now effectively just a dead key, which does not help.
