Hey Bo Diddley

A sad day indeed. Ellas Otha Bates, Bo Diddley, headed up into Rock and Roll heaven today at the age of 79. You can read more about his passing on MSNBC.

I only wish I could hear some of that sweet sweet music he'll be making up there with the Duchess herself, Norma-Jean Wofford (1942-2005).

This video's for you Ellas,

Hey Bo Diddley

Cheers,

Hi,

Bye BO, See you in R&R heaven

Life was slow and the cars were fast
The 50's & 60's, why couldn't they last?
Cruisin' down Main Street on Saturday night
Drive-in movies, what a delight!
Carhops on skates delivered the fries,
While the girls checked out all the cool guys!
Elvis, BO, Big Bopper, Richie Valens and Fats,
The Crickets, the Moonglows, the Flamingos, the Crests
Those were just some of Rock & Roll's best!
The 50's & 60's are gone, but the memories survive,
At Mr. & Mrs. DooWop, the 50's & 60's come alive!

I've got some Bo Diddley on CD, a joy to listen to. He left the world a better place than he found it with what he gave us all through his song.

Cry 'Havoc' and let slip the Men 'O War!
In War, the outcome is never final. --Carl von Clausewitz--
