Hate to bring up a new topic for this but...

There was a story someone posted on here awhile back about some people who were exploring this cave and found a hole in the cave then chipped their way into the main chamber. They smelt a foul odor and the story took quite a scary twist in the end but I thought it was well written and would like to share it, but I've searched these forums for STORY, SPELUNKING, CAVE EXPLORATION, but can't find the story anywhere. It must have been about a year ago and I don't remember the title of the topic, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Doesn't take long to find at all, if you remember the exact words you put in a reply to a random forum post 4 years ago...

Edit: Unfortunately while finding the thread was easy, it doesn't look like the website DeeBye was linking to exists any more. So try this... http://web.archive.org/web/20040402055556/...aver/index.html

Well I thank you for your help, but I wonder how I could not find it! I clicked on Search on the nav bar up top, then in the Search Engine tab, entered the words I put in the Search For Keywords section and made sure Forums Lounge was highlighted then pressed Enter on my keyboard but kept getting random pages, not DeeByes at all. Well, it's found anyways, and for the record regardless of what I wrote 4-years ago, the story is scary; I honestly can't believe it was four years ago... Feels like only last year. Man, time has really been flying lately. Seems to move faster the older I get.

Augh, goddammit, it stops at page 10. Page 11 isn't in the archive.

Edit: Never mind, and the odd thing is I don't actually remember reading the story the first time round. Even though I posted in the original thread. Hmm.

When beset by doubt,
Run in little circles,
Wave your arms and shout.

Guess you picked the wrong words to search with. I searched for "blair witch" and it popped right up.

Wow, I somehow missed that thread the first time around (or just have no recollection of it at all).

As a child I would have nightmares about crawling through a tight space, only to be unable to get back out. Spelunking Claustrophobia is one of my few big fears in life.

Fiction or not, the 1% chance I'd ever go spelunking has officially hit 0. :P

Cheers,

Munk

That website is based on a fictional short story called The Fear of Darkness
