At least when in comes to salvaging, say, a political or evangelical career or lucrative sponsorships marred by sexual infidelities, or so says Fox News anchor Brit Hume:

I'd be careful with equating "Brit Hume believes" and "Americans believe".

I'd guess considerably lower than the number of Buddhists. Most people haven't a clue about the religion they claim to follow, much less than any other religion. I suspect that the American Buddhists are no different.

Seconded. I heard this story on the radio and immediately thought Hume was making a mistake, and that he has perpetuated the characterization of Americans as culturally insensitive, under-educated fools. I for one may be under-educated, but I'm smart enough to keep my mouth shut.
I have no idea whether the conept of forgiveness enters into Budhist teachings, but it seems that Tiger has caused himself enough sorrow as a result of his desire.
Edit: Okay, well, I know enough to keep my mouth shut from now on...
but often it happens you know / that the things you don't trust are the ones you need most....

Perhaps Brit Hume, and the Fox News channel should convert to journalism and leave the sermons to the professionals.

Your initial response I agree with, and will add another:
Who in the Hell does this Hume moron think he is, moralizing? He's a freaking TV journalist, a tadpole who swims a moral professional cess pool.
His public assertion that Tiger needs his advice is arrogance beyond arrogance.
For goodness sake, Tiger did what a lot of men do, or wish they could do: he dippied his wick a-plenty in multiple enticing, warm, wet slots. What does this have to do with a need to get religion? Religious, atheist, or something in between, the penis/brain interaction has defied control for as long as hardons have been around.
I can only conclude that Hume has no penis, based on his remarks displaying a profound ignorance of the human condition.
Or that he's a well crafted bot.
