The two sure paths to misery are to care about nothing, and to care about everything.

Well, for me, the better parts involve hot tubs, technology, massage oils, and exquisite treats. But, not necessarily in that order or mixed together.

2/22/2008 -- Greetings from Stow, Ohio

This isn't a quote, it's a story about excessive stubborness. While the veracity of the story is questionable, it still provides a humorous take.

Supposedly on the bridge of the U.S.S. Missouri

Navigator tells captain that there's a light ahead, in the path of the ship. The captain radios out, alter course to starboard. A response comes back, you alter course to starboard. Captain asks, what rank are you. Response comes back I'm a Lieutenant. Captain radios, I order you to alter course to starboard. Response comes back, you alter course. Finally, the Captain gets angry and radios "I'm the Mighty Mo ... alter course." Response comes back "I'm a lighthouse, alter course."

You will have truly mastered the Icelandic language when you can sip "kaffi" from a saucer through a "molasykur" between your teeth while saying: "Það er gott að sjá þig". Robert Asgeirsson
