The one thing it shows is just how valuable Vivendi thinks the Blizzard name is. They've been Vivendi Games for years - neither mentioning Blizzard nor Sierra in the name. Now they're an even bigger company, and they put the Blizzard name at the forefront.

I find all the doomsday scenario posts amusing, though. Calling Blizzard sellouts and such. Guess they didn't realize that Blizzard sold out in 1994, and have just been lucky to have a name so valuable that all their previous owners have known to leave them as a Skunk Works. It's been out of their own hands for over a decade.
Trade yourself in for the perfect one. No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined!

If you go to Vivendi's site, they explain it...Vivendi bought Activision...they're trying to capitalize on both names in the new gaming division name.

I found out that Vivendi owned Blizzard by finding out that Vivendi owned Sierra, back when Valve was part of Sierra. Good old Half-Life:)
