1.10 item changes
#1
Several other items are changing as of 1.10.

I'd like to try to compile changes in this thread. If you are aware of item changes, please list them here.

Some I have heard, but not verified:

Brigam Girdle --
Before: 369 Armor / 15 STR / 16 STA / 10 SPI
After: 369 Armor / 15 STR / 16 STA / +1% Hit

Naglering --

Skull of Gyth -- Renamed Gyth's Skull of <random resistance>
Before: Green 685 Armor / 15 STA
After: Blue 509 Armor / 20 STA / +9 Defense / +15 resistance of whatever type you get

Please add other items you've seen will be changing or have seen detailed rumors of changes.

I was considering making ET helm soon, but if that's what Gyth's Skull will change to, I may skip the ET helm

Will the Nagelring I have now show the new stats or the old, after 1.10?

The new ones. All changes are retroactive (but I'll be darned if I can find the blue thread about this where I read that).

In fact I believe that all item changes in WoW have been retroactive, so there are no "legacy" type items with different stats than the new ones.

Not true, they generally let nerfed items stay in original form. For example in the patch where they nerfed the 1H weapon stat bonuses, existing items kept original bonuses. I think it was the same patch that nerfed some wands so that the most spell damage you can currently have on a wand exists on a pre-patch version of some blue wand.

But I have seen people saying that all changes this patch will be retroactive, no blue reinforcement of that, but people are pretty convinced this is the case.

If it's any consolation, it looks as if they are adding +1% hit on a lot of warrior type items + at least 2 pieces of heroism. So looks like that +1% hit will be reasonably easy to replace with a better piece of gear in another slot.

Besides, Blackstone ring from the princess in Maraudon is a better melee ring if you are after +1% hit. And as a 60 warrior, you should breeze right through maradon (we 3 manned it with 60 druid + me + 52 warrior)

Thottbot drop rates may scare you on that, but the allakhazam rates are correct. Thotbot only shows her dropping a blue 20% of the time, and blackstone ring is listed at ~3% drop rate, but she always drops a blue. I'm not sure how Thottbot is so screwed up on princess drops, but blackstone ring is more of a 20% range drop, I have it on 2 characters.

Any idea if this is unique now? *Looks in Lizzy's packs and sees two of them*

No idea, though I doubt they'd change unique status due to the case you just described... what would happen to the second one? *poof*

More upgrade rumors:

1.9 -> 1.10

Deathbone Guardian (plate)
Chestpiece:
1.9 Blue / 637 Armor / 12 STA / 12 SPI / +17 DEF
1.10 Blue / 637 Armor / 12 STA / +17 DEF / +5 mana per 5 seconds

Gloves:
1.9 Green / 362 Armor / 15 STR / 8 STA / 5 SPI
1.10 Blue / 398 Armor / 14 STA / +10 DEF / +4 mana per 5 sec

Belt:
1.9 Green / 326 Armor / 15 STR / 5 AGI / 8 STA
1.10 Blue / 358 Armor / 15 STA / +9 DEF / +4 mana per 5 sec

Legs
1.9 Green / 507 Armor / 15 STR / 14 SPI / 14 AGI
1.10 Blue / 557 Armor / +13 DEF / +5 mana per 5 sec

Feet
1.9 Green / 398 Armor / 10 AGI / 12 STA / 10 SPI
1.10 Blue / 438 Armor / 9 STA / +10 DEF / +6 mana / 5 sec

For tanking warriors, that belt is finally a reason to get rid of Stalwart Clutch... or for those dumb enough to sell Stalwart Clutch (me) an available alternative. Though the Heroism belt is probably overall better. And won't have the laughable (for a warrior) +Mana per 5 sec stat.

The boots are also the only easily attainable (<20 person raid) +DEF boots. If they didn't change the set bonuses, the 2 piece bonus will still be +3 defense... Though my guess is that with all these +DEF bonuses on the individual items in the set, that the set bonuses probably won't include +DEF.

Presumably the other Scholo sets that are 4 greens + 1 blue will see similar upgrades, taking all the greens to blues. If you get any of these items that look crappy, you may want to consider not DE'ing them just to see what happens with the other post-patch items.

I'm very interested in what the necropile set will look like post patch. My priest is wearing the robe, and my guess is that it will be a NICE blue set after the patch.

I wonder about paladin tanking in this.

Armor: 2388 (bracer, shoulder, helm free, very solid)
Def: 59
Stam: 50
Mana/5: 24

Now you are missing str and int, which are still needed but since you gained blessing of wisdom (essentially) from the items running blessing of might becomes easier as paladin tanking does become mana heavy with the new talents. The mana/5 is definitely better than the old spi. Set bonus's could matter a lot. Not sure how much str and int you'll be able to get from the last 3 slots, rings and a shield. But at least paladins have an option that isn't pure warrior for gear. They get that mana regen on some of these slots with the +def.

Of course with the real issue with paladin tanking wasn't damage mitigation but aggro control, this set currently does nothing for that. Give me an item that has defensive stats and makes my judgement of the crusader do 20% more aggro or something and you'll have a happy paladin. :)

I like how they tossed pallies a bone on this (if this is true), but gave tank warriors a *tank set*, since Valor isn't great for a tank warrior. 379 def with Anticipation and Drakk's shield is a nice start.

Still nobody knows what necropile will be like? I can copy my priest over and see what the chest is like, what pieces do you have vor? I know you got a bunch lastnight.

This morning I read a post on the forums with the new Necropile stats. I was happy I picked up two more pieces of it last night ;) I have 4/5, missing the shoulders.

The forums have been down all day so I can't access it now or I would have linked that post here (heck the whole site is down as of right now). It's on the Test realm forum, very long thread about new/changed items.

For Necropile specifically:

Set bonuses stayed the same (i.e. not very good except for the full set bonus)

Stats improved greatly across the board. I think every piece has stam/int/spirit (in that order), and two of the pieces offer +damage and healing. The boots in particular I will be wearing.

The chest piece itself changed very little (it was already blue).

This is now a great set for those Rogues not in epics. Almost pure Sta and AP, which is what's really needed the most before you start getting the epic gear. Hell, I still want to see more +AP on epics instead of +Str.

Heh, I was editing the original post when you posted.

It also looks to be some nice druid tanking gear for those slots where a druid can't find better STA / armor / def items, or simply feral DPS gear.

Just need the new Bloodmail stats to round out the Scholo sets, but I haven't seen much on those, I would guess because it really (REALLY) blows in current form, even for a shaman set, as it has to be for a shaman.

Yep, that was my thought....decent druid tanking gear. That's one area where my gear is lacking. Normally it's not much of an issue, as I don't tank a whole lot, but I have tanked Scholo twice in as many weeks, so it is something I think about. I actually picked up the Cadaverous gloves in Scholo on Sunday, and GG wisely suggested I keep them, just in case the new changes were nice. :D

It can be a fill in for feral, but I find it a fill in at best. Reasoning:

Agi is more important than AP. Agi gives AP in cat, dodge in bear, and crit in both (well, dodge in cat but that's not too important).

Str = AP. They're completely equal, given itemization formula and bear/cat AP formula. The same isn't true for Rogues (1 AP = 1 Str, and AP costs half Str), so Rogues need to focus on AP more.

There's BoE pieces in most slots that could replace Cadaverous.

Better than having a green feral piece, probably, but since it's tweaked towards the 2 best stats for a Rogue (AP, Sta), it lacks in important stats for feral.
