OK, the second one is "Stairway to Heaven."

I haven't the foggiest on the first.
Nor do I recognize the tune from the flash video, but I know that I should....

Edit: And of course, the misquote in the subtitle is from "Purple Haze," which is purportedly the most often misquoted song lyric.

It's "Blinded by the Light", written by Springsteen, made popular by some other dude. Except, I think DeeBye made a mistake, because I'm pretty sure those are the actual lyrics of the song. ;)

I'm trying to think of some of my own misinterpreted lyrics, but the thing is that you usually never find out. Of course there is the famous CCR advice: "There's a bathroom on the right." And I originally thought Eminem's first hit line went "My name is.... Sam Zany." And if anyone remembers "Informer" by the one hit wonder S.N.O.W., I *still* don't have any clue what he was talking about. I think it was something like "Informer: I know thenameofthissongand I can sayit." I guess I could look at a lyrics sheet sometime, but that ruins it.

Pour some shook up Ramen
All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall.

"Isn't this where...."

What song is the animation one? It is familiar.
I may be dead, but I'm not old (source: see lavcat)

The gloves come off, I'm playing hardball. It's fourth and 15 and you're looking at a full-court press. (Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun)

Some people in forums do the next best thing to listening to themselves talk, writing and reading what they write (source, my brother)

Catchy song.

Sugar is better.

Note to self: Never click on a link supplied by Dee again.

Like The Simpsons have ruined so many songs for me, I'll never look at Psycho in the same way again.

It's Manfred Mann's Earth Band. :P Mannfred Mann was his original group but it broke up and then he formed the Earth Band.

misunderstood lyric:

"Reverend blue jeans"

It was actually my brother's confusion. He actually stumped a record (those round black things that came before the shiny silver ones) store employee when he went in and asked for that song about Reverend blue jeans.

Here's an easy one:

The way it was supposed to sound: In the Garden of Eden.

Small problem the songwritter was so drunk when he pitched the song to his band it came out all muddled. The rest of the band liked the way it sounded so much they kept the drunkenly muddled version.

Misunderstood musicians, on the other hand, induce a chuckle now and again.
Live 8 and Ghana

The last few lines in the article, about the votes in NL and FR "shaking the foundations of the political world" are a mild overstatement.
