So now we've got 10 or 11 Level 60s...

Before the second wave of 60s broke on the shore, the first wave was doing instances at a slow, but steady pace... we'd get together once or twice a week and go do something. It was fun... we worked well together... didn't usually take much talking or planning, and my biggest complaint was it seemed lik my Hunter's Mark got interpreted as "Sheep this one" :P

Now that we've to enough 60's for 2 raid groups, I haven't been able to get a group together for much of anything... Got a group to go kill the big baddie in Blasted Lands, but that fell through becasue the server was dying, and mobs wouldn't despawn...

So, what's up?

Here's what I need/want to do:

Blackrock Spire (Half my Quest Log is full of Blackrock Spire quests)
The Battle of Darrowshire DONE
The Demon in Blasted lands... Rah'likh or something like that...
Dire Maul.

Every time I turned around a week ago there was a group hitting Dire Maul... has the new worn off that fast?

Anyone interested in any of these? When and Where... get something together and Muurka and Me will be there.

One of the lines buried in my sig gives my opinion on getting Lurker groups together. The only times I turn down a group is if I really need to get something specific done (RL or in-game) or if I know I'm gonna be AFK a bunch (more than my usual once an hour), which wouldn't be fair to the other players. My downfall is my own double standard. I won't ask others for anything (including something like forming a group to quest) because I don't want to "bother" them but I relish helping people I know whenever I'm asked.

What I can remember still needing to do:
need to get the tablets in EP
marauders of darrowshire (which leads to battle)
the demon in blasted lands (that silly demon doesn't know how lucky he is having his buddy, Lag Beast, protecting him from Lurkers!)
BRD
- need the info piece from the golem lord (and then the dreaded escort?)
- incendius
- MC discovery
- ????
BRS
- emberstone
- ???? (tons of yellow bangs that I haven't grabbed)
Stratholme
- ???? (have got one deed from the first room)
Dire Maul
- I've only been through enough to get my tasty new water and to do the quests from outside but I hope there is more to it than that

So, basically, I've got lots that can be done. Most people have moved on to leveling the next 60(s) but I still drag Lochnar out, even if it is to just farm faction.

Even though we have more 60s now our total is still relatively low. This leads to one big thing in my mind... you have to be proactive about forming groups.

I have tried to be extremely active in forming groups recently when I wanted to do runs with Flyn. I know everyone's alts and I usually send out some general feelers on guild chat if I want to do something. If that doesn't get a quick response it can be for any number of reasons so I start whispering people left and right to get a group together. With our pool of 60s along with a bunch I have met from outside the guild I've been fairly successful in putting groups together when I want to. It just doesn't happen on its own.

This does take some patience though. Everyone has their own time restrictions or other issues in Real Life™ that they have to deal with so schedules don't always line up. This makes having a larger network of friends useful. I have a few Basiners and even a few others that I have grouped with enough that I can try to call them in when I need backups. Also don't forget about Ramala and co., I pulled a few of them in to Strat last weekend and it was a blast (even if everything didn't always go smoothly).

What it comes down to is the fact that someone has to be proactive in putting groups together and even then they have to be patient and understand that schedules sometimes just don't work out. If it is in your character (for example it isn't for Loch) you should try to build up your network of friends if you can. Also, if you don't have the time to put something together plant a seed in the head of someone who does. An off-hand comment to me that you need to do X will sometimes result in me putting a group together to do X. Loch likes to do this to me :P I personally will not be around as much for the next few weekends but if I am around feel free to ask me if I want to do something. I will often respond in the positive and use my network of people to try to make it happen. To be specific I'd like to find out what else there is to do in DM and I really want to do a Scarlet Strat 5-man. I'd also like to 5-man Scholo farther than the summoner's chamber and get more of BRS done. My schedule won't allow all of these things to happen in the very near future but it shouldn't be too hard to convince me to do one of these things if the timing is right. See you all in game.

Geez, yes it is and that is what I meant. I didn't even think about Stratholme. Another case of tons of yellow bangs to be grabbed to go along with the ones I already have.

Don't forget about myself and Quark. We both have Level 60 chars in another Guild, and we would be quite happy to bring them out and kill stuff.

Although I have my own guild to deal with, anytime you guys find yourself in need of a meat shield feel free to give me a yell to see if I'm available... and anytime you're on looking for something to do, same thing applies (after all, my gang might be shorthanded and looking for something to do).

NB for Flyn: Our main group grabbed core fragments last night, so you've got at least five more bodies in the potential MC pool. :) And on that note, unless I'm otherwise occupied I'm perfectly willing to come along on runs to get people to MC for that purpose. After all, I seem to have a bunch of this "dark iron ore" stuff... ;)
