Highlitation of new posts
#1
Whenever I come back to the LL and look at a thread with a "New" post, all the posts are marked as unread (outline mode). Any way to fix this? Or should I just go to standard to find it?

Also, whenever I actually post something, the new post seems to show up, naming me as the new poster. This is kind of odd since it is not new to me...

Its nothing big, just a tad bit odd.

Highlightation: "The act of highlighting items, especially posts on an internet forum."

I like it! Hopefully this word will make its way into the dictionaries. I can't approve, however, of the reformed spelling "highlitation," or even the arguably more consistent "hilitation."

I thought "hilitation" was Photoshop pron, made by small minded internet wankers, of a certain Senator from New York. Glad to see I was in error.

I'd simply go for "denotation". People pay way too much attention with dictionaries when thesauri would serve their needs amply so. Provided they didn't all die out after the Upper Cretaceous.

Well anyway, to get this back on topic - does the forum behave this way for anyone else? I'm not seeing it.

I see it when I'm in outline mode. The thread itself is marked as having unread posts, but once I click on the thread itself, individual posts aren't marked. What makes this worse is that, at that point, even if you switch into linear mode, any thread you clicked on in outline mode will be listed as "read", even if you never got past the first post in the thread. At least, that's how it works in Firefox and Netscape. Maybe IE is different?

I can't see how this would be fixable in the current version, though. :(
Why can't we all just get along
