would a necro with breath of dying work

I am interest to know if the "50% chance to cast level 20 poison nova when you kill an enemy" from the breath of the dying rune word can be increased.

I was thinking of an necromancer with poison dagger and poison explosion at level 20 giving a synergy bonus of 400% to this poison nova from the weapon. (2237 poison damge / 2 sec)
Then having the bramble rune word on the armour giving an additional 100% poision damage. (4475 poison damage / 2 sec).

Will this work? Its going to cost a bit for the rune words just to try.

Yes, the synergies will work with BotD. Although you may want to just invest in Poison Nova yourself since you'll be able to bonk it up well over 20 with the right gear.

Another question: does the poison nova start where the monster dies or does it come from me?

I just want to stay away from damage.
