There are three types of people in the world. Those who can count and those who can't.

I never in a million years expected this. I learned a bit from this article:

So I've been playing Diablo because of this like I was back in high school and first year of college. It's such a trip. People are complaining about how "old" and "clunky" it is but I am still used to it 20 years later so I don't mind.

Ditto. (Except for the HS / college part...I was already out of school.) It has been enjoyable starting up fresh from level 1. Early game is a challenge for the sorcerer. But once you get a few levels of Fireball...

I purchased this the other day, Diablo 1 for modern OS's on GOG, it works well. *But* note the requirement for many to enable UDP on the firewall. Connecting to Battle.net otherwise generates a 'your system may not be processing UDP or port 6112' warning, that allows you to use the chat Channels but not create/join games.

At first it seemed it would be fun to reminisce, to welcome the nostalgia of old days where there was plenty of drama, legit players, clans, player killers, hackers and hack users, crashing and patching. But the number of games after spiking once quite quickly died back down. Sometimes classic remains classic. But it's still fun to play single player once, or for it's unique aspects if you decide to re-continue reverse engineering.
