Movie scenes that you cannot watch?

Quote:I watched Equilibrium last night, and there's this one scene that had me curled in a little ball. The main character breaks random badguy's arm at the elbow by kicking it in the direction that it's not supposed to bend, complete with little blood spray.

Ouchie.
That's the bunny.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be curled up in the corner, cringing and whimpering.
When in mortal danger,
When beset by doubt,
Run in little circles,
Wave your arms and shout.

What's that line again...

"Maria, get the butter." I think Occhi will know which movie this is, and share my revulsion.
All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall.

"Isn't this where...."

That was my first thought. But there are some close second place ones in my mind...

True Romance where Patricia Arquette gets beat to within an inch of her life by James Gandolfini or Casino with the baseball bat in the cornfield. I think of how Peter Weller first died in Robocop as well. The toe smashing torture scene in Payback.

Also, that scene in Full Metal Jacket where the VC Sniper (Ngoc Le) methodically keeps one guy alive and screaming to get more guys to expose themselves. Then later, when she is gut shot, and panting "shoot me" in vietnamese.

The phone sex scene between Janeane Garafalo and Ben Chaplin in The Truth About Cats and Dogs. When I realized just what was about to happen here, I ran out— screaming.

I'm not making this up to be funny (you think I would lie and say I watched The Truth About Cats and Dogs?) And looking back, I actually wish I was making this up. The very thought of the scene is enough to send me into convulsions of terror.
Political Correctness is the idea that you can foster tolerance in a diverse world through the intolerance of anything that strays from a clinical standard.

The "Right Now" music video by KoRn. Very disturbing animation. You can download it from all kinds of places including Limewire.

Quote:Not a movie, but I was unable to watch any scene in 24 where someone got tormented.

This is kind of odd, but I was quite numb to everything that happened in 24 until the final episode of Season 1. I went into that kind of expecting the Disney ending for the Bauer family, and something about the way it went down left me with a turning stomach and no desire to ever see Season 2 or beyond. There's nothing too graphical there, but something was emotionally overwhelming about the whole thing.

As for movies, I don't get to the cinema that often, and the TV edits never have the most graphic scenes. Like some other people, I don't blink at heavy violence and gore, but if someone is going to get poked with a needle full of heroin or adrenaline I am closing my eyes and turning around.

As for sports: Super Bowl, Bengals vs. 49ers, David Krumrie, inverted knee... not easy to forget seeing that even after all these years. Similarly, Willis McGahee of UMiami taking a knee blow from Will Allen of Ohio St in the Fiesta Bowl a few years back.
