Act 2 was definitely nerfed. A lot of things that would one-shot you before now hurt but you can still manage to get out and heal up, i.e. the snakes that would stealth, run up to you (completely immune to any traps or attacks you might fling your way) and then attack you unstoppably, killing you in one hit.
